What is a Blog?
A blog is short for "Web Log" and is in the form of a diary or journal kept on the web. A blog is basically your own personal site that allows you to write and share personal feelings, add links to sites you find interesting, and add your own personal touches. You can update and edit the site at any time.

History of Blogs?
Blogs have been around since the 1990's and were in the form of comments and links to other pages. However, weblogs could only be created by those who already knew how to create a website. In 1998, Jorn Barger identified them as Web Logs. The term was later changed to "blogs" by Peter Merholz in 1999. At first, he called them "Wee-blogs." At this time blogs and blogging were rapidly growing in popularity but it wasnt until Pita, the first free build-your-own weblog tool, was created that the phenonema of blogging took off. A month later, in August, Pyra launched Blogger, a site where you can create your own free Blog, and since then many sites like Blogger have been created.
